In Moncala, instead of pieces, each player owns positions. Strategies such as pattern recognition and focus on opponent are used in a very different way. Flexibility is also very important. The board state can change quickly and dramatically. as stones are distributed. Instead of just responding to immediate situations, advanced players develop strategies that provide control throughout the entire game.
